West Virginia Get-Out-The-Vote Maps
FairVote2020 has developed an interactive map showing precinct-level turnout rates in the 2000
presidential contest and the distribution of West Virginia's minority population.
Map 20 under "Compare Maps" includes block-level detail of the minority voting age population
beginning at a scale of about two miles for Kanawha County (Charleston) and Cabell County (Huntington).
Additional maps include census data on poverty, housing and income. Change maps by clicking the drop-down menu
under "Compare Maps" on the left.
At the end of this page is a link to Adobe maps showing nonvoters and 2000 turnout
rates by precinct for West Virginia localities with populations greater than 2,500. There is also a link to a second set of maps for the same places displaying
Bush-Gore by precinct. Use the two sets in tandem to help target your canvassing efforts.

Map 1 -- Percent Turnout in West Virginia in 2000
At a scale of about 5 miles, the number of voting age persons (by precinct) who did not vote in the 2000 election is displayed in purple boxes. This
number includes both registered and unregistered persons and has not been adjusted for non-citizens. Precinct boundaries are those in effect in 2000.
Note: Percent turnout is calculated using the population 18 and over. Precinct-level votes cast is calculated based on votes for presidential
candidates. There are no data available for 108 of the 1,909 VTD precincts in 2000, including all 65 precincts in Cabell County. In addition, 81 precincts had
turnout rates over 100%. These areas, along with the precincts with missing info, are left blank in the map.
