Since the 2004 general election, we've updated interactive maps with precinct-level data for California, Minnesota, New Hampshire,
New Mexico, South Carolina, Texas, and Wisconsin (plus Maine and Michigan townships). We'll add more states where we can find statewide precinct-level geographic databases that
match the 2004 election results, but in most cases this is not possible. Some additional states may become available as the 2008 election approaches.
Note that several other state map applications include 2002 through early 2004 precinct/precinct proxy voter data -- Arkansas,
Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, and North Carolina.
Over 9,000 high detail "zoomable" printer-ready, PDA compatible, street-level focus precinct maps are also available
for Arkansas, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan,
Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio and South Carolina. Depending on the state, the maps show block-level estimates of unregistered
persons of voting age or unregistered plus inactive voters.
In addition, community-wide Adobe maps can be downloaded for about 1,600 localities in those eight states and a dozen
or so other states where we have statewide registration or turnout data -- Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oklahoma,
Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Depending on the state, these maps show precinct or neighborhood-level estimates of unregistered
persons of voting age or unregistered plus inactive voters.
Just for fun, we've added Adobe maps showing Bush-Gore by precinct for the same set of localities in Arizona, Colorado, Florida,
Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia. Similar Adobe maps are
available for the 2002 Senate contests in North Carolina and Georgia and the 2002 Wisconsin Attorney General race.
Also, street-level census data Adobe maps are available for selected precincts in Oregon and Wisconsin counties, where we have
been unable to obtain the registered voter lists.
These interactive and Adobe maps can help you marshal scarce resources for door-to-door voter registration and target areas for
transporting voters to the polls.

Estimated Latino 18+ citizens (2006) by tract --- This KMZ file contains nearly
20,000 census tract centroids, representing all census tracts with an estimated 50 or more Latinos of voting age who are citizens as of July, 2006.
The tracts are sorted by state, county, and place. For faster load time, Google Earth initially displays Wisconsin only. Click on the sidebar boxes to display additional states.

We have given this site a facelift.
Future posts and links to all web pages can be found at www.fairvote2020.org. You can also continue to access all pages created through
November 2007 using the "classic" format via the web page you are now viewing or via the links from the FairPlan
website. Content on the "classic" pages will be kept current up to the 2008 election.
November 2007
We have produced statewide precinct files in Google Earth KMZ format for six states -- California,
Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Texas and Wisconsin. You can download the files from the Google Earth
Community forum.
The precinct boundaries are those in effect for the 2004 election. The maps are themed to show the vote percentages for Bush-Kerry (excluding third party votes).
February 2007
We can overlay any thematic voter registration/GOTV map onto Google Maps. For small areas, maps can be displayed directly like this
illustrative voting plan for Otero County, Colorado. For large areas, voting maps can be tiled like this block group-level regional median income map.

We can convert any thematic voting map into Google Earth .kml/kmz format. For an extreme statewide example, check out this Bush-Kerry
statewide precinct map for California. The file is large, so you will need a fast computer and a relatively new graphics card. Here is a much smaller one showing Washington DC voting precincts.

Interactive maps for most states now have a Google base map interface option. This could be of
some utility for close-up zooms if you are looking for a feature such as a college, park, or military base that is not displayed on the FairData map.
You can also use the base map to get directions to any point identified by the balloon marker. Upon request, this option can be activated in
any FairVote2020 interactive map.

See Map 16 in 109th Congress Constituency Maps
for a Bush-Kerry by county interactive map. For comparison purposes, a Bush-Gore map is also in the congressional map. This nationwide map is also
available in the Polling Place Demographics map application and the Ohio and Minnesota maps. The Minnesota map also includes a
Bush-Kerry precinct level map.
The Florida interactive map now includes a map showing precinct-level results for the 2002 gubernatorial contest between Bush and McBride.

Polling Place Demographics
Over 50,000 geocoded polling places in 440 counties, based on information compiled by volunteers working on a poll monitoring project with the
Verified Voting Foundation.
June 2004
Bush-Gore thematic maps by precinct have been uploaded to the following interactive maps, accessed under the "Compare Maps" drop-down menu at the end of the list:
Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Idaho, Maine (towns), Minnesota, Mississippi,
Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico,
Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia.
States in red were added in July 2004.
Precinct-level thematic maps for key Senate contests from 2002 -- Cleland-Chambliss in Georgia and Dole-Bowles in North Carolina-- have been added to the
interactive maps.
These maps show head-to-head contests and exclude third party votes.
May 2004
We have produced street-level Adobe maps showing estimated unregistered voters by census block for Ohio (1,500 maps) and Arkansas (400 maps). Similar maps can be
produced where we have electronic registration lists.
April 2004
We have produced street-level Adobe maps showing estimated unregistered voters by census block for Florida (1,500 maps), Georgia (675 maps), North Carolina (750
maps) and South Carolina (1,000 maps). The maps focus on precincts where the minority voting age population is 40% or higher. These printer-ready maps are suitable for
door-to-door voter registration canvassing. Similar maps can be produced for anywhere in the country where we have block-level dataset estimates (as in Florida) or electronic voter
registration files (as in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina). See the Greensboro,
NC tutorial developed with our client Democracy South and corresponding map-linked spreadsheet.
December 2003
We have updated the unregistered African-American map for North Carolina to pinpoint the residences of approximately 50,000 African-Americans who were
removed from the registered voter list because they have not voted since the 1998 general election. See North
Carolina for additional details.
We have completed a preliminary geocode of over 1.4 million registered Georgians as of 2003 (all races) who did not vote in the 2000 Presidential general
election (some of whom were not registered at the time) See Georgia Map 18 (a statewide map
with initial zoom to Thomasville, Ga.)
